5.5.3 PUBLIC PLAZA DESIGN
Project Description
The aim of this intervention is to design a ver-
satile space to accommodate multiple uses.
According to the findings of the study, multiple
activities take place at this vacant space at dif-
ferent times of the day. Hence, the proposed
intervention aims to separate this conflict of
use physically through designing a multiple lev-
el plaza.
Proposed Activities
• Design the street section according to
acceptable standards and international
guidelines.
• Demarcate the different functions of public
open space activities, including shop ex-
tensions, street vending stalls, pedestrian
paths, and street furniture.
• Improve vehicular accessibility to the shop-
ping malls for service purposes.
• Use of low cost materials to avoid increas-
ing the land value.
