Chapter President Kevin Pineda, who was in attendance at both Convocation and the Debriefing noted that “one of the biggest reasons why FDM is getting a lot of attention lately is because of how effective and simple it is to treat. Patients have immediate relief in common issues such as ankle sprains, neck or shoulder pain, and piriformis tenderness.” This sentiment appears to be shared by all students who participated in the Convocation Debriefing led by fellow members of the SAAO chapter. The event was such a success that Dr. Martin Torrents, Chairman of the OMM Department at TouroCOM, devoted the next Technique of the Month on the Fascial Distortion Model, which was also well attended and received by club members.

members have big plans for the next school year. In addition to growing membership by recruiting from the incoming class, chapter leaders plan to send as many club members to Convocation as possible. If the success of these post-Convocation events are any indication, the SAAO Chapter at TouroCom is optimistic about fostering enthusiasm for Convocation 2017 and carrying the momentum into the next school year.
