Here’s what she had to say.. Hi and welcome to Live Magazine. Tell us abit about yourself.. Hi there! I’m Katyuska and I’m a cosplayer from Brisbane, Australia! How and when did you get into Cosplay? I first got into cosplay back in 2007, conventions were something I hadn’t really heard of or experienced before and a couple of friends from school thought it would be a fun idea to go! Of course I didn’t understand the extent of cosplay back then and just how accurate peoples costumes were, I threw something which resembled one of my favorite final fantasy characters and rocked up. Was a little embarrassing to be honest but too much fun not to go again! What I love about cosplay was the fact I could be anyone I wanted to, I got to wear clothes I thought were cool in a way that represented my fandoms! Now I still feel that but also get to share my costumes and fandoms with a lot of people and it’s an awesome feeling. Who’s your favourite character to cosplay and why? Hmmmm my favourite characters are always changing but as a cosplayer I feel my favourite character to cosplay is always the most comfortable to wear. Most costumes can be really out there and cool but uncomfortable as all hell! Kasumi is probably the most comfortable for me! Bayonetta was crazy fun but because my guns were screwed to my shoes I kept wobbling and not stepping far ahead enough. Do you attend many Cosplay events? I’d love to travel and visit more conventions and I do go to Brisbane and occasionally Sydney ones. All de- pends on if I can afford it, costume making sucks a lot of money! How long does it usually take to get ready for a Cosplay event? Getting ready for a cosplay event takes a couple of hours. If I’m not rushing to fix things up, makeup will take a good hour plus wig styling and costumes with fiddly bits can take ages to put on. I’m usually late to a convention and rock up around midday. I need to work on that I think. You have over 600 thousand fans on Facebook! How did you become so well known in the Cosplay world? Cosplay has become increasingly popular outside of those who actually cosplay themselves and it’s become a lot more socially acceptable. Gaming, anime and pop culture in general are taking over the world. I think I just got lucky to be honest.
