Live Love Sparkle : Be the Queen Woman's Day 2017 | Page 11

My first day in Paris, I went to the top floor of Eiffel tower and witnessed the beauty the city had promised. It was indeed the city of lights. For the next few days, I visited Louvre Museum, Pantheon, Notre Dame, Sacré-Cœur, Montparnasse, palace of Versailles and of course went on cruise on Seine river.

My next destination was Brussels. I stayed there for a day, visited Atomium and roamed around the streets, made a friend back at the hostel who joined me to Bruges the next day. Bruges in a small and beautiful town in Belgium. Unfortunately, it rained the whole day and I could not take the boat ride through the canals. Nevertheless, I put on poncho, held on an umbrella and continued. The next day, took a flight to Amsterdam - city of canals!!! This city is full of bicycles. Don’t be surprised if you get hit by a bicycle. Red light district, Heineken experience, Anne Frank house and a visit to a local coffee shop were the highlights of my 3 days spent here.

I had some lovely people accompanying me whom I met in the hostel and who were crazy about gelato. We ended up eating gelato at every store we found good.

After Rome, I flew to my last destination - Lisbon, Portugal. As soon as I entered the reception of the hostel I had booked, I got greeted with a welcome drink of Ginjinha - a portuguese liquor. The next 2 days I travelled to a small and beautiful town called Sintra, Cascais and Cabo da Roca (Cape Roca) - westernmost point of continental Europe.

My next stop was Prague where I spent 3 days walking down the Charles bridge and taking a cruise on river Vltava before landing in the eternal city - Rome, Italy. After touring the gigantic Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi fountain and through many beautiful squares,

I also visited the Vatican City. Sistine Chapel with the famous Michelangelo’s painting on the ceiling and the very grand St. Peter’s Basilica were the main highlights of this place.

Finally, the day arrived when I had to end my stint of 20 wonderful days and fly back home. There I was thinking of how I had started enjoying living with a bag, travelling to different cities, meeting different and wonderful people from different parts of world and completely different cultural background.
