how to maintain your gym routine
If you’re like most people, going to the gym can be a drag. You’re a modern urban guy or girl with a demanding job and active social life. You simply can’t afford to dedicate the time for the gym on a consistent basis. But then again, you can’t afford not to, particularly since exercise prevents many chronic diseases such as asthma, cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Think about it this way. The more you are able to maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine, the more you can be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Going to the gym or maintaining your workout routine isn’t an option anymore, it is a requirement for singles who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Today’s singles are now more sophisticated than ever
1. Set your goals – If you’re a goal oriented person, this could definitely be the spark to motivate you into going to the gym. Loosing those extra pounds will be a cinch if you are working out on a consistent basis. Use the SMART technique (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely) for helping you monitor your progress towards your goals. This technique is an acronym for the following:
2. Adjust your schedule – Try to find a great time of the day when you can be motivated to working out. This is a time that you are free from family responsibilities, work stress, etc. For example, if you don’t have time at the beginning of the day, then set your work out time at the end of the day. If working out at the end of the day is no good for you, then try working out mid-day. Usually, gyms are less crowded during the day so this may be the best time to work out.
3. Hire a personal trainer – Yes, I know you are a highly intelligent individual who can use a treadmill on your own but your trainer will be able to motivate you when you don’t feel like working out. They will give you a structure to work with so that you can easily keep track of your goals.
4. Get a work out buddy – Having someone to work out with can help motivate you into keeping your gym routine. The gym can be a lonely place without having someone there to keep you company. Work out buddies are great because they can not only provide you with companionship, but also help make your workouts fun!
5. Motivate yourself – Listen, you can have all the tools and resources in the world that motivate you to get to the gym or be consistent in your workouts but at the end of the day, it all comes down to you. You have to adjust your schedule to go to the gym, drive yourself to the gym and actually do the workout. No one else can do this for you. Your will and determination has to be there or you won’t reap the benefits.
