Brookland Village
We are pleased to welcome the PresCare Physio
team to Brookland Village. They conduct classes
at Brookland Village on Tuesdays and have helped
out a few of our residents with balance and
mobility issues.
Our ladies at Brookland Village enjoy getting
together on Craft Day to make cards or knit. They
also undertake projects in order to help the less
fortunate. This month they are working on knitting
rugs for the palliative care patients at QEII
Hospital.
Maleny Grove
From an article in the local Hinterland Times in December, a group of our residents have
come together to make some young lives a little brighter.
A creative group of residents at Maleny Grove are making a whole range of colorful
pillowcases and donating them to children battling cancer.
This is what community living is all about.

For many years I passed a sign that said “Welcome to Brookland Village”. It came to be
that I lived alone in a large home with the responsibility of constant maintenance and
looking after a swimming pool and gardens. I thought it was time to downsize, so I decided
to come and have a look at Brookland with my family and find out all about it.
Sharon explained everything in an easy to understand way and it was very affordable. I
was very happy to hear that it was pet friendly, as “Taffy” my little dog is my best
companion. Brookland understands how important pets are and they are welcomed.
I loved what I saw, it felt so homely and right and my family totally agreed. It was ‘my
time’ to enjoy my life and the pleasures of not having all that responsibility. Also, I was
lonely and isolated in my big home and really needed a change.
So here I am with Taffy. I have a lovely, spacious, renovated villa
with a great surrounding fence, she can’t escape but has lots of
room. I am so happy living here, knowing that I have complete
freedom, security and friendship. I can join in the activities,
attend events and concerts and go on the outings whenever I like.
Also, I can receive future care in my own home whenever I need
it, so I will never have to do the epic move again.
Everyone is so friendly and caring and the village has lots of land
with beautiful gardens and walking paths. Every day is a new
adventure for me and Taffy and we are looking forward to
tomorrow and the next day and so on for the future.

Samford Grove
During March we welcomed “Northside Fitness” to the Samford Grove Activities Team. Nick
& Martina have been conducting fitness classes every Friday morning to help build strength
and maintain fitness levels with our residents. Everyone is progressing a little each week
and have already started to feel the benefits that come with community activities.
Ferny Grove Police Station dropped by to visit our residents again, as usual they have
proven to be invaluable with local information and offer advice on current security and safety
concerns including internet & phone scams and what to
watch out for.
CAMEO (Come and Meet Each Other) Morning Tea and
Evening Meal, once a month, continue to be a big hit at
Samford Grove. It is at these events that Birthdays and Special
Events are also celebrated.
It has been a great start to the New Year here at Samford
Grove, and we continue to be a very active community here in
the heart of the lovely Samford Valley.
