LIVE ARICO P. A. W. S.
Dog Charity Shop Las Carabelas San Eugenio Las Americas
Several readers have pointed out a glaring error in our previous issues. We have been spelling Los Cris with an h! The only explanation for this is that the editor is an ignoramus!
Nevertheless, supporters have appreciated hearing about what we are up to.“ Where Does All The Money Go” is the most popular feature as it brings home what all the effort actually achieves for the animals.
People outside the organization are also getting to know us as copies of LA NEWS are passed round.
If anybody would like to get involved in our efforts to help the suffering and abandoned animals of Tenerife, please email Sue, our new president, on Sue @ livearico. org

The Live Arico PAWS A. G. M. was held on Wednesday, 20th March at Bar 39 in Los Cris.
Siobhan issued the 2013 Annual Report, a copy of which is available for every member.
The first item was the accounts which were agreed. Sue and Siobahn had compiled a large folder containing each and every receipt so that all present could inspect the raw data as well as the figures presented.
Credit is due for all the hard work that went into such a competent and professional production.
The next item was the election of the new committee and the results were as follows: President, Sue Havenhand. Vice President, Kerry Railton. Treasurer, Siobhan Ferguson. Secretary, Eugenio Da
Mommio. Events Manager, Sharon Edens. Vocal Members: Michaela Bridges and Steve Sands.
Other Business included a discussion on increased collaboration with other organizations, fund-raising ideas and managing the collection boxes.
Sue gave an update on adoptions and the status of animals currently under veterinary care.
Firstly, credit is due to Sue and Siobhan for running LA PAWS in the interim period.
They ensured the continuation of the organization with one priority— to guarantee the dogs were fed while awaiting the move to the new refuge. Then for as long as the dogs remained our responsibility.
How easy it would have been for them to give up, but they refused to abandon the animals. For if no one fed them, they would surely have had to be put down.
Well, they couldn’ t let that happen and so LA PAWS was born. Now that the immediate danger has been averted, they are able to focus on moving the organization forward.
With the new committee in place, LA PAWS is poised to advance the animal welfare cause in Tenerife.
LA NEWS welcomes the new team on behalf of all our members and supporters. Good luck to them in their roles and thanks for taking on the difficult task.
What a big responsibility! All those unfortunate animals depending on them for help.
We are sure, that like Sue and Siobhan before them, the new team will never let the dogs down.
