Our project was inspired by our youngest students who very often spend a lot of their school time in the classroom. We wanted to show them the world outside and teach them about nature and sustainability through different activities in our school garden. We used the garden and its treasures as a place of discovery, a subject of study and hands-on learning and as support to cover a broad range of topics - arts, science, literature, citizenship and languages. We worked together with other European schools from Italy, Greece, Portugal, UK, Croatia, shared experiences, ideas and ways of working around the garden to learn from each other new things.
In September we started to work on our garden. We brought new soil and painted old benches.
We also picked up vegetables that we planted earlier in the spring. We were very pround of our giant carrots and peppers.
