Now, there are certainly obvious books that seem to go hand in hand with their movie or TV counterparts, and I’ll mention those, because, well, how could I not? But I want to give you some others that you may not have heard about. I’ll be honest…one in particular surprised me!

It is understandable, because when you watch holiday entertainment, you generally get caught up in the moment and do not give much thought to what that entertainment is based on. But the truth of that is that by ignoring the source material, you might very well be missing out on some pretty amazing stories that provide deeper messages of the season.
In the first part of this month’s column, I am going to give you the video entertainment, then I’ll tell you about the source material. I will also give you recommendations from both the same author and additional authors. You may want to add a few to your reading list for 2019.

Almost always, right? Not surprising, we are book people after all.
Now, think about how many holiday movies or television shows you have watched over the years. Probably quite a few?
Last question: How many of you have ever compared a holiday movie or TV show to the book that it was based on?
