Starry Nights
There’s something that tells me everything will be fine, even though everything
may seem awfully dark at times. Is it too optimistic or cliche of me to say that I
think there’s still hope for humanity? It seems like the world has reverted back to
the modernist era [aka the pessimist era] and has become as isolated and moody
like the great T.S Elliot. As much as modernist literature and art have become an
integral part of our history, it is time to look beyond everything that is wrong with
the world and start looking at the stars. Honestly, it isn’t the darkness of the night
sky that captures our attention, the stars do. So why do we focus so much on the
dark side of things when the bright side is so much more engaging?
That is not to say that the tough things in life should be ignored. We cannot ignore
our bills, bad report cards, or declining relationships forever. However, what can
be done is seeing beyond the problems and seeing the blessings of life. Instead of
focusing so much on what went wrong with a former partner, why don’t you start
telling yourself that maybe destiny does everything for a reason? If it doesn’t work
out then acknowledge that that’s how the universe wanted it. I like to believe that
the world will never place something in your path that doesn’t help you. Too
“sunny and chirpy” for you? Well here’s my theory. If the universe thought you
