Pros and Cons of Moving to a New Country

Class: ESL 5 Teacher: Caitlin James by Rimma P.
There are many positive aspects of living in another country, but there are also trials. One of the advantages is that I live closer to my family. For example, I can see my daughter and granddaughters every day and help them. I don’ t feel lonely. Another advantage is that I can receive new knowledge. For instance, I attend a free language course and learn a new language. I also like learning about other cultures. For example, I appreciate the respectful attitude that people show to each other in this country. In addition, I can learn a lot about the country and make new friendships. In general, living in another country is a great way to experience life in a completely different culture, and I enjoy spending time here.
On the other hand, there are also trials to moving to a new country. One challenge is to deal with the language barrier. For example, I cannot read books, watch films, and have difficulty communicating in society. Another challenge is overcoming attachment to my native country because I have many ties to the homeland. For example, moving to another country at my age was voluntary, but every day I remember my home, where I have my own space, friends, favorite stores, neighbors, church and so on. Although I thought I weighed all the pros and cons, I miss home. In conclusion, when we move to a new country, we can improve the quality of our life or meet up with family like I have done, but we will also have to face certain challenges.

My name is Yessenia. I am twenty six years old and I am from Honduras. Today I am going to talk about my family. My parents are the best thing I have in my life. My mother is a happy woman and is always smiling. My sister Lourdes is married, has three children who are very naughty, and lives in Honduras. My brother is super good to me and Lupita is super angry. My daughter is very studious, has white skin and black eyes and loves to eat baleadas. I love my family so much.
