Let me introduce myself. I am Elinet from Venezuela. I have two broth- ers and one sister. I have a son, Hector, who is 10 years old. I work 30 hours a week as a dishwasher. I like to sleep. I don’t like to iron clothes. I am an immigrant and this is my story. I came to the US with my son this year in the summer. I have been in DC for seven months. I came because I hope for a better and safer life. Now, I am in the United States, I have many goals and dreams. Next year around this time, I want to be in a higher ESL class. But what I re- ally want is to be more stable with my son. I am learning English because I need to understand when people speak English to me. In 5 years, I want to have my family together. My dream is to see my son become independent and to help him develop professionally. I hope to be able to have professional opportunities as I did in my home country I want to have a position in business administration. Elinet This is my story. This is who I am.
