My Mother I and I my mom. As soon as I found out I talked to her and I said, “You must say sorry because she is trying to help you.” I like to have her help. I always tell my siblings that they must take care of her. BY c a ro l i n a m i gu el I remember my mother when I was a child in my country, she didn’t go to work out of the home. Her job was to take care of my siblings and me as soon as sunrise, she started to work at home. She always woke up at 5:00 am to go to the grocery store to buy some groceries that she used to prepare our breakfast. At 7:45 she dropped us off at school. During the time that we were in school, she cleaned the house and prepared dinner. At 1:00 she picked us up from school. When we got home she fed us. She always prepared food and dinner every day. My father never liked the food of the day. He was extremely strict. At the end of the day she must check our homework and show it to our father. All these things my mother did every day since I was 4 years old and still does. She is the best mother that could I have. She never said no when we needed her attention even when she was upset with my father. Every day they fought about a small things. My mother always told me that when I needed her she would always be there to support me and my siblings. Few years ago my older sister fought with n this country I have a huge different kind of life between my mother and I. I need to work out of the home and in the home. I don’t spend enough time with my daughters, and I wake up at 7 am. As soon as I wake up, I wake up my daughters and then I take a shower and do many things but I don’t have the time to make breakfast for my children. The breakfast for my daughters is cereal with milk. At 7:55 we need to go to school. During the time that my daughters are in school I’m in school too. When my school is finished I go home and do some duties, and sometimes I prepare lunch. If I have time I prepare dinner for my daughters and their father. When they get home they have time to watch TV and play together. My daughters ask me why I don’t spend time to be with them to pick them up from school and eat together like family. Sometimes I think that I’m not a good mother because I don’t take care of them like my mother did with me. I would like to do the same like my mother, but in this country it is impossible. 41
