ENGLISH L E V E L 6 TEA C H ER S : Christopher Ladd REbecca shiring My favorite food BY WAI WONG M y favorite food is rice. My mom calls me “Rice Bowl” because I can take a lot of rice like a rice bowl. I know there are a lot of foods more delicious than rice, but it seems for me, I only love rice. I have to eat rice every day. If one day I don’t have rice or I drop some on the floor by accident, I feel disappointed or unhappy. Life is just like a broken rice bowl. No matter how sad I am, it still doesn’t fix the bowl that I broke. Sometimes when something happens, we have to let it go and think, at least the broken bowl didn’t cut my hand. I love rice just like I love the fresh air that makes me feel good. Rice is just like vitamins in my body. Without it, I won’t die, but I will be sick. Sometimes, I think happiness can be very simple; you only need one glass of water and a bowl of rice. The needs of people are not that great. But people are always thinking they want more and more. They confuse the idea of “want” and “need”. When I think about the things in life that I have lost and gained, I feel grateful even if I only have a bowl of rice. I think I would like to change the word “carbohydrate” to “happy-hydrate” because I’m happy if I have rice. 28 bio p o em BY ZEUS FLORE S Zeus Strong when he plays basketball, explosive sometimes, thoughtful about life, tolerant of this world.
