y country is very warm. In the month of April
is our celebration of Semana Santa. The people
use costumes and mask. They also use whips.
Many people go to the beach every weekend. The family
gets together, drinks , and cooks. On February 27th, for the
Constitution Day, many people go to the Malecon to walk in a
parade.
In June it is very hot. The people drink coconut water. In
the neighborhood, the people put a pool in front of the
house so that the children can play. This is summer in
my country, the Dominican Republic.

i! My name is Maggie. I have been
in this class for almost five months.
This is my first time studying English
class in the U.S.A. I have learned a lot of
English from my class. My teacher works hard
and she has a lot of experience. I see everyone
is happy in this class they do a very good job.
Now, I can speak English much better and I
can help people who do not speak English.
I
have met a lot of friends. I feel very
comfortable and have energy every day. I
would like to thank all staff, friends and
community. We can’t do well without your
support to learn English and finding friends.
