Vocabulary Power of Friendship By Piotr Kaźmierski Aram and Mourad are two main characters of William Soroyan’s short story “The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse”. They are two young boys who were from in poor family in California in the early 20th century. They were born in Armenia but their parents immigrated to the U.S. as a result of persecution their country. These two boys are examples of children who had grown up in the shadow of the tragic fate of their nation.
