Level 5 My Favorite Place Beau Digital Photography. By Fabio Molinares. by Audberto Roman Salvador M y favorite place is a hacienda located on a little mountain to the north of my vil age in Mexico. The hacienda is very old, and it is very famous for people near and around it. Some people like to see the ruins and fallen walls where our ancestors lived for a long time. Each year many people meet with their families in the center of the village, and then we walk together through the mountains for three or four hours at night. When we are walking between mountains, the night is very dark, the road is illuminated with fireworks and people holding candles. You can hear the howl of coyotes, singing of crickets, and feel the fresh and cold air. After we walk towards the hacienda we have a religious ceremony at midnight. After the ceremony you can smell the rich mole and tamales that people cooked. The elders drink strong mescal, burning their throat and a few others drink rich roasted coffee. Kids drink a traditional drink called “Ponche,” this is made of fresh and tasty fruits. People laugh and dance because the music you hear is very danceable and cheerful, so you feel like dancing, and have lots of fun. Some people carry their blankets, so they can sleep there. The next day the party continues. It is my favorite place because you can eat, dance, stay with your family and have a great time. Teacher: Nusz, AM 24
