E x t ra C u r r i c u l a r - C o n v e r s t a i o n a n d S p e a k i n g arnaval C For every weekend during one month of every year, we celebrate Carnaval. It begins in February and it is a little different in each city because there are different colors and costumes in the different regions. Some of the costumes are handmade and there are many wearing masks. People walk on the streets, there is music and it’s a show. They decorate the cars and themselves. The people dance and parade on the streets. The groups travel and perform with Roba la Galina and the devil. People use a ball, vejigas, to hit people and also a sword. Carnaval is celebrated 40 days before Easter. Juliet Liviano Teacher: Ruth Ticktin, AM 46
