V news, papers, people and social pages erupted into a veritable shit-storm
of their own, predicting alien-like surf, with quality the likes of which we’ve
never seen.
When the typical east-coast-low swell arrived it clashed slightly with a southerly swell
bump and unfavourable tides, delivering an unthinkably crowded mess. Rumour has
it a solid crew of resident pros foresaw it all and headed south or north to escape it.
Did Ola let us down? Was this swell a hoax or dud? Hell no! It was the manifested hype
that cloaked itself around it and turned basic expectations into the plain unreachable.
‘Are you kidding?’ - we thought. It absolutely pumped, and such perfect waves should
always be loved for what they are. Nonetheless, we sent out some minions with lenses
and they brought back a little gold over a couple of days - here’s what they witnessed.
