was good to see some young kids with a lot
of great style in their noseriding and to see
how much interest young kids still have in
that approach and that style of surfing.”
Noosa is just a longboarders paradise, if
there was no crowd that is, but what’s the
longboard scene like down on the Goldy?
“It’s a good sort of scene up there, but it
is changing on the Gold Coast. Our waves
are probably a little bit more consistent,
a little more powerful compared to say
Noosa, so your approach with things like
noseriding needs to be a little bit different
I think, slightly different equipment works a
bit better so - it’s interesting how it changes
from coastline to coastline.”
So you’d have a lot of different boards
running right? What are you on these
days?
“I’ve got a noserider that I like a lot that I
designed with Wayne Lowen, it’s a ten foot
