you know the bottom of the barrel but frothing
all the same. I knew the job was going to be
tough and naturally in round three I ended up
surfing against the top seed and raining world
champion Piccolo Clemente and managed to
take a win. To get a win in that situation really
made me want to return and put up another
good performance , and build on my 9th place
result. My goal is a world title for sure and that
was something Macca also said to me, “you
have a world title in you mate” - so I don’t want
to let him down.
Regardless, I still surf everyday for the same
reason I did 10 years ago, and it’s all about
just being at the beach, in that lifestyle with
my amazing partner and family. In the back of
my mind Macca reminds me how life is short
and you need to chase your dreams whatever
they may be because you never know what
is around the corner, what tomorrow holds
for us all. For me it’s focusing on the present
and enjoying the moment - that was always
Macca’s way of life. Surfing has given me so
much and educated me in so many different
ways, so I will always continue to love and
support this amazing lifestyle //
