TUMBLEWEED
These kings of stoner rock and palpitating
vibes hailing from Wollongong headlined
the festival and had a lot of ‘90s reminiscent
history to live up to. They crushed Mary Jane
and a host of other ripping classics, but it was
the overall electric jolt the guys gave this gig
with their enthusiasm for their sound which
glued it all together. Couldn’t help but imagine
how spectacular their front man Richie would
have looked back in the 90s, swinging his
upper body and head the way he does along
with his octopus-crossed-with-helicopter
arms impersonation, since his hair was longer
than ours back then. Brought back some
nice memories for the older crew, absolutely
schooled a lot of the younger frothers.
Boss Moment // The buildup of screaming
guitars and thunderous drumbeats for the
finale just blew brains with how it nearly
destroyed everything in the whole room. Won’t
ever forget that feeling.
