Luke spends his days from 9am ‘til 3pm like
any other school kid on the Coast, but when
he’s on his own time this self-taught surf and
landscape lensman is busy building a portfolio
to pursue his dream of making a career out of
his passion. Up at dawn most weekdays, he’s
hands on before school, often trying to ‘get
that perfect shot I can share with others’.
With encouragement and guidance from peers
like Burleigh surf photog legend Mark ‘Wilba’
Wilson, Luke’s goal for the end of this year
is to hit the markets with some prints. “The
money I hope to make, I will re-invest in more
photography equipment and one day repay the
people that have helped me the most,” Luke
tells LiQUiFY. Judging by the following photos,
we reckon this grom’s heading for a few money
shots.
“This all started when I was 13 and I got a
GoPro for Christmas. I started just doing
surf photography but now have expanded
my knowledge to be confident in doing long
exposures and experimenting in time lapse
photography. I take most of my shots from
