Second Block
THE WATER IN DAMS
•
Dirt is a big cause of pollution in our rivers and streams. Rain washes dirt into streams and rivers. Most of the dirt washing into lakes and streams comes from exposed earth.
This exposed earth includes plowed fields, construction sites, and areas that have been logged or mined. The solution is to stop the dirt from getting into the stream in the first place by disturbing the land as little as possible.
The two most common nutrients found in water are nitrogen and phosphorus. They cause algae to grow and can turn the water green. The major sources of nutrients are runoff of fertilizers from farms and lawns, animal waste, sewage treatment plants, and septic systems.

The three dams that supply water to the metropolitan area of Monterrey stored together 432 million 229 thousand cubic meters of water, more than 15.9 million a year ago. In a statement, the dams were Cerro Prieto, El Cuchillo and Rodrigo Gómez.
Consequences of human activity in care and water quality
The consequences of human activity take impact on the earth resources as water, flora, fauna, petroleum, etc. Every day we need to raise awareness about the materials we buy, think twice and take importance to this issue, as all the materials we consume or buy are made by major resources we have on Earth. Not everyone can be rebuilt, each of them has a period to be used again, but it will come a time where we cannot have enough items for us to use daily and future generations will not be left a lot to take advantage for a daily life.
