Mrs. Press launched our first unit with a special chapel message that focused on this undeniable truth: We Need Each Other. God designed us to be people of relationships; it is literally in our DNA. The Bible is full of examples of relationships (both good and bad examples) and instructions about how we ought to live together. In nature and in our lives we see the truth that we are stronger together. It is obvious that we need each other!
So why, then, do we struggle? Why do we feel lonely? Why don’t we treat each other the way we know is best? Sin. When sin entered the world--and our lives--it broke our relationship with God, and it soiled all our other relationships. We could never and can never fix this ourselves. It is only by the grace of God that we have salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. When we accept His salvation, believing that He died for our sin and conquered death in His resurrection, we are restored to right relationship with God.
Then...we live happily ever after surrounded by godly relationships, with no more loneliness...right? Wrong! We will continue to face struggles, we will continue to make mistakes, and those around us will, too! The solution again comes from our God who has “given us everything we need for a godly life” and whose “very great and promises” equip us daily (2 Peter 1:3-4).
This year, as we focus on relational skills through FRIENDZY, we will come back daily to this truth: We need God’s power, provision, grace and forgiveness every day! We will LEVEL UP in our relationships as we depend upon Him!
