The juniors (Class of 2024) organized and hosted the annual Junior-Senior Banquet in honor of the Class of 2023. This annual event is an opportunity for students to dress up, have fun, and celebrate each other. During the evening, the juniors recognized an honorable character trait of each senior along with revealing the senior superlative that was listed in the yearbook.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ACADEMIC FAIR

This year’s Middle School Academic Fair showcased our students while honoring their grandparents. Beginning in Grade 6, Cornerstone students must complete one benchmark writing assignment each year through Grade 12. While this is definitely not the only writing assignment given each year, this is perhaps the largest and most significant. Each grade was assigned a benchmark topic that included a written paper. Students must pass this benchmark with a grade of an 80 or better in order to demonstrate mastery to promote to the next grade level.

As a part of this benchmark project, our middle school students created presentations to share at our annual academic fair. Our Grade 6 students studied heroes of the Christian faith; our Grade 7 students studied an animal; and our Grade 8 students studied a country. During the fair, students presented to groups that included their families, guests, and other students. It was a fantastic day!

This year we began a new tradition of recognizing and honoring grandparents. Grandparents were invited to a special viewing time at the start of the day. This allowed our students to present to their honored guests in a smaller, quieter setting. Grandparents also enjoyed a special reception area and received a gift from the school. This was well attended, and we plan to continue this tradition moving forward.
