As we continue to work on our Self-Study in preparation for our October 2024 re-accreditation visit, we invited all our school parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators, board members, and recent alumni to participate in the Flourishing School Culture Instrument (FSCI) survey earlier in the fall. The results of the survey provide meaningful data to help us identify our strengths and growth opportunities to address through ongoing school improvement initiatives.
Thank you to those who took the time to complete the fall 2023 survey! Your input revealed our five most meaningful strengths as a Christian school.
Systems Thinking: When planning for change, the potential impact on the school, the classroom, students, and the the overall system are considered.
Professional Development: Professional development is provided on-site and is subject- and role-specific.
Individualized Instruction: Students are helped to figure out how they learn best and to identify their natural strengths.
Spiritual Formation: Alumni reported that their Christian faith is stronger thanks to attending a Christian school, and they believe people can change with God's help.
Caring Environment: From the perspective of school graduates, the teachers were kind, included students in class, and protected students from bullying.
The identified key growth opportunities are also encouraging because they highlight initiatives that are already in place. For instance, the establishment of Cornerstone Educational Support, Inc. (see the front page) has the potential to directly enhance the school's financial position. Additionally, we have already adopted and are using this year a K-8 social-emotional program called Friendzy to help students learn to love and serve others more like Jesus. Likewise, the school's leadership has been better utilizing data from ongoing assessments to intentionally affect intended student outcomes.
Together, we are able to flourish in the CCS mission!

THE LION'S ROAR
JANUARY 2024
We launched a year-end campaign during the last three weeks of December to invite families and businesses to support Christian education at Cornerstone through year-end giving. Some families helped us clear the "giving board," and some folks shared a portion of God's blessings on their families and businesses from the 2023 year. Through the generosity of several, we received almost $32,000, nearly tripling our giving board goal! Thank you to all who donated!
