THE LION'S ROAR
FEBRUARY 2024
Thanks to the generous support of this year’s PTFA fundraisers, the PTFA was able to use surplus funds to bless our teachers and students with a new printer (and a round of replacement cartridges!) for the computer lab! This will provide fast and economical printing for projects done at school. It will also give our teachers access to print color documents for school use.
This purchase was possible because our Cornerstone community supported our PTFA fundraisers, including our Meadow Farms (pies) fundraiser, Elementary Christmas Store, and the annual Craft & Vendor Fair. We hope that the last major fundraiser of the year, MCM Butter Braids, will also be a success so that the PTFA can continue blessing the school!

THANK YOU!
GUIDANCE: DON'T MISS THESE PARENT & STUDENT MEETINGS
Attention, families with students currently in Grades 5, 8 and 10! Mark your calendars and plan to attend these important CCS Guidance Sessions designed to prepare parents and students for next year and the years ahead. Mrs. Joy Press will be designing these meetings to provide resources, tools, and information that will equip you and your child. Attending these meetings will ensure that you and your child can take advantage of the guidance-related services that Mrs. Press provides.
While these meetings are specifically designed for these grades, all parents are welcome to attend any of the meetings. We know many parents like to plan ahead! Additionally, we will be opening these meetings to the public, so feel free to bring or refer a friend!
Thriving in Middle School, Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 PM
This interactive workshop is designed for students and parents/guardians to attend together. The purpose is to prepare and equip students and parents for the transition across the CCS parking lot! Cornerstone-specific information will be shared, including information about our program, homework expectations, and more. General information about navigating the 'tween years (the middle school years) and high school preparation will also be presented. We will meet in the McLain building.
High School: Starting Strong, Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 PM
This interactive workshop is designed for parents and students to attend together. Students finishing Grade 8 this year will learn important information about Cornerstone's high school program. This will include post-high school planning information that begins during the freshman year. We will meet in the McLain building.
Sophomore Post-High School Planning Night, April 16 at 6:30 PM
Current sophomores should consider this a mandatory meeting. This meeting will set the stage for the next two years of post-high school planning, including the college selection and application process. In order to fully take advantage of our school's guidance resources, students and parents must attend this meeting.
