The psychological field has been around for many decades and yet with all of its strides there is still some unclear principles and concepts that are generally held concerning the black male if not the entire black race. I have studied counseling, psychology and pastoral counseling in excess of 30 years. In many instances the subtle investigation did not explore the real issues with the black male and his affinity for sex or in many cases his lack of sexual relationships with black women. Psychology of black men as it concerns sexuality makes for a very powerful study and research. I have begun to develop a method of examining man that investigates the inner workings of the mind as a living soul that is integrated into the entirety of the physicological as well as meshed and integrated within by pneumatological factors. This study has been conducted by way of Nepheshiology. This term is taken from an ancient Hebrew term that refers to the "Living Soul". It is understood as a breathing sentient intelligent creature that is connected to the body by neural networks and other connectors of the body called neural
integrators. These integrators are believed by Essencologists and Nepheshiologists to be those links from the soul and the spirit that enables the conscious mind to make sense out of the physiological stimuli. In nepheshiology and essencology (The study of the essence of Man) man is perceived as a trichotomic being and not just a material being composed of material hardwiring. It is considered that personhood is a compilation of immaterial sentience in conjunction with the brain cells, neurons, synapses and the dendrite cells. This gives us an indication of how complex man truly is as a living being. When there is consideration of the human instincts such as sexuality the level of complexity continues to increase at an astounding rate.
It is clear that man is a very complex organism that integrates experiences into information that can be used and processed in the brain. This information is continually processed by the sensory mechanisms of the physical senses. This processing has taken place literally since conception. The fetus experiences sensations that it cannot understand but these sensations are experiened just the same. With all of these subtle sensations the brain begins to develop through the months of gestation and growth and the brain cells are becoming organized to the point where there will be a formation of the individual's experiences into:
1. Emotive Skills
2. Intelligence
3. Awareness of Self and Human Functionality
4. Self Assessment of Worth and Needs
5. Relationsional Processes
6. Instinctual Modalities
7. Qualitative Life and Self Perception of Gender
8. Sexuality
These qualities and others will be greatly enhance or diminished by the primary caregiver or lack of care by the same. Other factors are very vital as they relate to behavior patterns of the qualitative life (the construction of one's sexual role that occurs because of the psycho-psyiological makeup. Masculinity is generally caused because of the structure and the nature of the body along with the hormones and other factors. These factors will cause either feminity or masculine behaviors and attachments to the opposite sex or the same sex.
