In Saskatchewan , Canada , near the town of Lucky Lake , is the

home of B Bar Cattle , a Limousin outfit owned and operated by Delaney and Deanna Boon , and Eric , Terra and Rozlyn Boon .
The three-generation Limousin ranch was established in 1982 when Delaney and Deanna purchased a package of registered Limousin and Limousin-cross females .
The Boons appreciated the added muscle , growth and calvingease the Limousin genetics added to their calf crop , and the rest is history . They were hooked on Limousin and have been raising them ever since .
“ My dad has always been passionate about the Limousin breed — both the cattle and the people in it ,” said Eric , who grew up showing Limousin cattle in 4-H and junior events . “ We have had some great mentors over the years who have helped us make great strides in our breeding program .”
A few of those mentors included J . Yorga Farms of Flintoft and Anchor B Limousin of Hanley , both in Saskatchewan . In the early
2000s , the Boons were selling bulls with the Yorga family in a joint annual bull sale .
Later , they leased cows to the Anchor B crew , and as part of the partnership , the cows were managed by the Boon family , where the focus was raising bulls for the Anchor B Annual Bull Sale . That partnership dissolved in 2011 when Eric returned home after graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with an Agricultural Business degree .
“ After a rewarding partnership with Anchor B , in 2012 , we officially put our tattoo back on the cows ,” said Eric . “ We have been extremely active in the breed since then .”
The B Bar Cattle herd currently consists of 70 purebred cows and 30-40 commercial females that are used for recipients in their embryo program .
“ The leasing partnership allowed us to use genetics that were exclusive to just a couple of herds , including Anchor B , in Canada ,” said Eric . “ ROMN Made To Order was one of those bulls that heavily
The herd grazes on primarily native pastures at B Bar Cattle .
