President’s Message
Continued Prayers for Nebraska
By Gary Fuchs, NALF president
Fellow breeders it’s May.
As I am writing this, many of our fellow
breeders and friends are managing through
the issues of horrible flooding and the recovery
that is required. I hope that this issue finds
each of you in good condition and looking
forward to a productive summer. I hope each
of you had a successful sale season and that
your calf crop came as you had planned.
As always, the summer is a busy time for our
members (especially our juniors and their families)
as they prepare for the summer show season.
The experience gained from families working
together and the fellowship with other juniors is
a valuable part of the animal production project.
I hope each of you have safe travels to the various
shows as we move forward to the 2019 National
Junior Limousin Show & Congress and the All-
American Futurity in Springfield, Mo. this summer.

I want to extend my thanks to each person that
has been involved in the planning and support
of the 2019 events. I hope that those of you that
do not have participants in the events will take
time and visit Springfield during the activities.
By the time you read this your Board of Directors
will have met in Lincoln, Neb. I am confident that
when you read about the results of that gathering,
you will understand the commitment that your
board members have while serving you and
learning more about the DNA testing services
available and about the beef marketing industry.
Finally, I want to encourage each of you to evaluate
the value GE-EPD’s and other DNA testing have
for the future of your herd. As we compete in the
seedstock industry, producers of other breeds of
cattle are extensively using various DNA testing
options in their herds. If we are going to be
competitive in the marketing arena, we must be
aggressive in the use of our testing options. I
