It’s an exciting time to be
engaged in the cattle business
and think about the possibilities
over the next decade. Export
markets should continue to
increase over time, allowing
U.S. cattle producers a bigger
market share of potential new
consumers which will continue
to increase demand for your

product! Improved quality and
consistency of the end-product
to the retailer and ultimately the
consumer will drive production
practices at all levels of the cattle
business. It’s time to be fully
engaged and take advantages
of the tools that are available
in the industry right now.
While it’s exciting to look at the
future, it is also a good time to
reflect on your last 50 years and
not forget where we have come
from. Pioneers not only within
the Limousin breed, but the
U.S. cattle industry should be
commended for their foresight
and vision of taking the beef
industry to where it is today. It’s
worth it to look back and thank
the individuals too numerous
to mention on the dedication,
knowledge and money it has
taken to get the industry in the
position it is today. Happy 50th,
