The Little Things in Life

Greetings to all! I hope that each of you indulged in wonderful food, fellowship with family and friends, and have tried to get back into the swing of things from being out of school on winter break. I know for me it has been a very hectic few weeks, from being in the barn working with my winter show heifers nonstop to trying to find time to have a social life in between. It’ s crazy to think that in one year I will be enduring a new chapter of my life, attending college to study Animal Science and Agriculture Communications. Don’ t get me wrong, I am very excited for the changes but it’ s also quite nerve-racking. It seems like just yesterday I was walking into my rural high school for the first time as a freshman and in less than 6 months I’ ll be tossing my hat at graduation.
If there’ s one person that has stood by me through it all it’ s been my dad. Not only has he traveled with me to just about every FFA competition and
cattle show I’ ve been involved in, he’ s been my go to guy for advice about growing up. So often as young people growing up we don’ t take enough time to honor those who have sacrificed so much for us. As 2018 has officially begun, I challenge each of you to take the time to honor your parents, siblings, and other family members and friends for all that they have done for you and continue to do for you! Call up your grandparents and have a conversation, they would love to hear from you; spend time at the barn with your siblings and then have a snowball fight; hug your mom and dad when you get a chance and tell them‘ thank you.’ It’ s the little things that can make a huge impact in someone’ s life, and that can make them feel special.
