$ 8,750 Awarded in Limousin Scholarships

The North American Limousin Junior Association( NALJA) and the Limi Boosters awarded 13 scholarships totaling $ 8,750 to Limousin juniors this year.
The Limi Boosters sponsors the Donna Etherton National Scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship have excelled academically, shown outstanding leadership abilities and demonstrated citizenship. The selection process is also based on financial need and participation in 4-H, FFA, and Limousin junior activities. These juniors received a $ 500 Donna Etherton Limi Boosters National Scholarship: Lindsey Gulotta, Independence, La.; Grant Hubbard, Miami, Okla.; Amber Johnson, Sebeka, Minn.; Alexa Montagne, Elk Point, S. D.; Micah Ott, Danvers, Ill.; Randa Taylor, Decatur, Texas; Katie Vogel, Tiffin, Ohio, Carson Walrod, Moorland, Iowa.
The primary objective of the Leonard and Vi Wulf NALJA Scholarship is to financially support the educational pursuits of young Limousin enthusiasts that possess upstanding character, perseverance, work ethic, ingenuity, and demonstrated scholastic achievement. The recipient must be consistent with the values endeared by the Wulf family. The scholarship is to be awarded with income generated from the inventory fund established at the time of Leonard Wulf’ s induction into the NALF Hall of Fame. It’ s further supported by the generosity of the Wulf family. One $ 500 scholarship will be awarded for the 2017- 2018 academic year. This year’ s recipient is Amber Johnson of Sebeka, Minn.
The Ron and Carolyn Holland Scholarship was created to financially support the educational pursuits of young Limousin enthusiasts that possess upstanding character, perseverance, work ethic, ingenuity and demonstrate scholastic achievement. These attributes are consistent with the values endeared by the Holland family. Selection was based upon participation in NALJA activities and / or Limousin breed and stated future professional goals. Randa Taylor of Decatur, Texas was awarded the 2017 Ron and Carolyn Holland Scholarship. This scholarship awards $ 2,000 to the individual, distributed in yearly increments of $ 500 for four years.
Up to three $ 750 scholarships are awarded to support Limousin juniors that have proven excellence in Limousin activities as well as leadership skills demonstrated in NALJA, 4-H, FFA, and other endeavors. Recipients are selected based
on their hands on experience shown by a detailed report of management practices used within the applicant’ s own herd and their ability to set and achieve worthy goals. The 2017 Award of Excellence Scholarships were awarded to Kaitlyn Boyer, Weldon, Iowa, Caitlyn Ochsner, Kersey, Colo., and Brooke Falk, Harveyville, Kan. I
