market. Every packer buyer I
ever sold a pen of cattle to came
to our feedyard armed with all
the kill data in the world when
they bid on cattle or agreed on
a ship date after visual appraisal
for cattle sold on a grid or
formula, but they still had to
give them the “eyeball” over
the fence before they shot me
a bid or agreed on a ship date.
In other words, as mentioned
earlier, it isn’t easy. As you
are aware, a lot of things are
factored into making, producing
and feeding the “right kind”
and still remain in business.
