Frazier came on the scene by powering his way to the backdrop at the 2019 Indiana State Fair
winning Reserve Supreme bull honors. This tremendous son of the breed giant, Aviator, is good
on the move and has impressive dimension, ideal frame and plants on a large foot and bone.
Above all, he is extremely docile and his first calves are on the ground coming small with vigor
and his impressive look. All indicators tell us he should be a great choice for first-calf heifers.

“When Lyle was young, I don’t think either of us realized we would
be working together as he got older,” Leonard said. “We have both
learned to work with one another, and it’s a real blessing to get to work
with him and have my grandchildren be involved in the operation.”
Lyle credits a lot of the operation’s success to his father. He said
their common goals, but contrasting viewpoints, have helped push
the operation to reach the point it is at today. The father-son duo is
always on the search for improvements to be made on the operation,
Lyle said.
“We’re both committed to getting better,” Lyle said. “In the future,
I hope we can expand and keep the entire operation together.”
Both Lyle and Leonard said they do not plan to give up their
passion for the cattle business any time soon. They hope the next
generation of Keeton’s finds themselves drawn back to run the ranch
in the future.
“Hopefully, my kids will learn to appreciate the success they’ve
had,” Lyle added. He and Leonard expressed their desire to see all
three children play a part in the operation’s future.
“Sometimes it’s difficult when those youngsters are trying to make
decisions on what they want to do,” Leonard said. “What they had
growing up is a pretty good thing and sometimes it takes them a while
to realize that. Hopefully, some of them will be interested—it would
be enjoyable for them to come back.”
Lyle said he and the rest of the Keeton clan are proud of the “measure
of success” they have found with their cattle, in and out of the show
ring. The greatest sense of pride can be found in all three generations
of Keeton’s in the fact that every animal they exhibit is home raised
and purebred Limousin.
“Going back through the pedigrees, nearly all of our females go
back to the one heifer Lyle started with,” Leonard said. “I think our
breeding program has done well, where we can raise high-quality cattle
that can do well in the show ring but also can go out and improve
commercial operations.”
The love for the Limousin breed and the cattle industry is common
ground shared by more than just Leonard and Lyle. The father-son
duo is grateful to have their own passion reflected by cattlemen and
women across the country. They hope this common ground stretches
to the next generation of Keetons, and both look forward to the future
of the Keeton Limousin Ranch for generations to come.
