Hey y ’ all !
I hope all is well in your part of the country ! If you are like me , you have been looking for warmer weather and summer to be here . In Oklahoma , we had a few cold spells and let me tell you that was plenty for a girl who loves the sunshine . With sunshine beaming that means Junior Nationals is quickly approaching . I may be a little biased , but the Junior Board has been working their tails off to incorporate numerous new activities for the junior members . Just a few examples we have decided to revamp the tenderfoot-mentor program and we will be incorporating a Genotype / Phenotype show into the week .
The importance of the Tenderfoot program is for an experienced junior member to be paired with a younger junior member so their
junior national experience will be enjoyable and not intimidating . This year we are having a tenderfoot kickoff Saturday night and then a scavenger hunt Sunday afternoon . We understand there will be a few junior members that will still be traveling on Saturday night , but we do not want them to be turned away from coming to participate on Sunday . We encourage everyone to participate because it is a way to meet new people and visit with long-time friends . The scavenger hunt is a week-long activity , so be prepared for a competitive week among junior members !
The Junior Board is excited about the Genotype / Phenotype show and hope it will relay the importance of both genotype and phenotype to the juniors . This show will consist of a judge ranking animals based
