In addition to participating in Limousin programs , every female at Fuchs Limousin has been DNA tested and the operation participates in whole herd reporting .
In upcoming years , Fuchs hopes to promote the breed to other local cattlemen within a 50-mile radius of his operation . Fuchs plans to market not only his cattle but their genetic excellence as well . While he said commercial breeders around Cameron do not typically focus on EPDs , he is eager to help them discover the importance of genomics in the herd .
As Fuchs works with his family to continue to make these ambitions a reality , he will continue to keep the traditions of his grandfather alive . From the most detailed records , to the care given to livestock and the land where they graze , Fuchs strives to uphold the philosophies born when Fuchs Limousin was first founded .
