a visit to
The Peggy Guggenheim Museum
The sun was shining, warming up the day. You would never have known that it was early February - the perfect time to visit and explore the City of Venice on foot. However, despite the lack of tourists, the atmosphere was abuzz with preparation for the annual Carnival.
Walking through the labyrinthine streets of the Dorsoduro district, we turn into a corner, almost missing the unassuming entrance to the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, home of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Greeting us were some impressive pieces, notably, Barbara Hepworth, Eduardo Chillida and Luciano Minguzzi. As we made our way to the entrance of the Museum, we were pleasantly surprised to see a charming sculpture by Max Ernst.
The Museum is a gem with so much to see, housing a wide range of 2D and 3D work.
