"This poem came to me along with the sculpture. We need to treasure those moments of awe that arise spontaneously".

That moment when we meet
the rest of creation,
from thunder to the small things.
A time to pause,
consider
what we truly are.
Lose our breath to beauty,
surrender to something more -
dance with the butterfly.

"Joie de Vivre relates to the flow and counter-flow in an artistic composition, whether that be ballet, music or art. The figures display fluid grace yet strength in their frozen positions moving sympathetically and in rhythm with each other."
Joie de Vivre by Maggie Butler
"Exploring shape, form and texture I create sculptures that represent and interpret the human form. My expressive fragmented figures celebrate the strength and beauty of the female form. Through twisting, arching and stretching my forms express tension and energy capturing movement in clay."

"In admiration of the supreme confidence and artfulness of this wild and beautiful creature."
