In one of the rooms we find an inner cubicle dedicated to Pegeen Vail (1925-1967) and her works with Edigio Constantini. It was moving to read how much Peggy Guggenheim felt for her daughter: “My darling Pegeen, who was not only a daughter, but also a mother, a friend and a sister to me…There was no one in the world I loved so much. I felt that all the light had gone out of my life. Pegeen was a most talented primitive painter…”

We continue to meander through the Palazzo, and finally end up in the Terrace. Here is where we find Gill’s other two favourites: The Angel of the City by Marino Marini and Chariot by Fritz Koenig.
