Fight or Flight by Seamus Cuddihy

However, over the last year I have become fascinated with metal (stainless steel, mild steel and copper) and have learned to weld, bend, roll, chop and manipulate this wonderful, though challenging material to reinterpret what I see around me as subject matter for sculptures. Very early days and definitely – a work in progress!

My role within the Society as Workshop Coordinator is “exactly what it says on the tin” - to coordinate workshops and/or demonstration events where members can benefit from the vast amount of skills, experience and expertise of the other members.

I am hopeful that we will be able to develop the scope of the workshops further for the benefits of all. It would be great if people could get together informally just to share ideas and practices. We have so much to gain from and give to each other.

Last year Society members took part in two hugely successful workshops i.e. a demonstration of Patination of Bronze Resin Sculptures by Carol Orwin and a fully hands-on whole day workshop on Sculpting with Wax with Adam Warwick-Hall. I was delighted to host both workshops at my studio in Chessington.

I would be delighted to welcome people to visit my studio so please get in touch if you would like to come on your own or bring a friend or two.
