Noguchi worked a lot with industrial sheet material making sculptures to represent landscapes, bodies, abstract forms and natural forces and the exhibition has some lovely examples of these works. An example of his interest in sculpture having social influence and working with landscape is shown in 9x9x9, simple terracing for playgrounds (opposite and above).
The forms that the sculptures take are elegant and intriguing and above left is a photo which includes Figure Emerging and Root and Stem. Although I had downloaded the QR code, as there is no labelling in the gallery I found it quite difficult to name the pieces, but have since decided that this enhances the effect the pieces have on you. You are not looking to see what the artist is representing but rather listening to the effect the pieces have on you. Enjoy!
