1, 8, 15, 22, 29— Merchants Alley Happy Hour Music Series The Athens Main Street Merchants Alley Happy Hour Music Series is back for another year, beginning with the first Happy Hour event of 2026 from 5:30 p. m. until 7 p. m. on Friday, May 1. The series will continue each Friday at the same time and place all throughout the summer. Location: Merchants Alley( 107 North Jefferson Street in Athens).
2— Connect Athens: Community Festival Connect Athens is where business, community, and fun come together! The Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce’ s former Home & Garden Show has grown into a community celebration; one featuring a diverse business expo, outdoor activities, and a lively Kids Zone with Touch-a-Truck, inflatables, and more. Tailored to showcase Chamber member businesses while creating opportunities for family fun, this event is designed for the whole Athens-Limestone community to enjoy. 5, 12, 19, 26— Athens Farmers Market on Tuesdays Head to the Farmers Market at Doug Gates Park for a whole new season of locally-grown produce and locally-made goods— all backdropped by lively entertainment and family-friendly fun. Monday, May 5 marks the start of the Farmers Market’ s weekly opening schedule, which falls on Tuesdays all summer long. Time: 3 p. m.- 6 p. m. 8— 2026 APD Sporting Clay Shoot Calling all sharpshooters and supporters of law enforcement! The Athens Police Department is gearing up for its 2026 Sporting Clay Shoot— and you can expect this year’ s event to be a blast. Get your teams ready for Friday, May 8, when the event will take place at Old South Clays in Athens. Every registration and sponsorship supports the Athens Police Department Tactical Team! 9— DMAC Fest Come together around The Square in front of the Limestone County Courthouse for this year’ s DMAC Fest, named in honor of the late Dylan McMahon to forge mentorship and career opportunities in welding and other vocational trades. There’ ll be live music and food trucks on hand for the admission-free event, with proceeds benefiting the DMAC Foundation. Time: 5 p. m.- 9 p. m. 12— Herb Gardens with Master Gardeners at the Library Join the Limestone County Master Gardeners for their free presentation on Herb Gardens at the Athens-Limestone Public Library. 15,16— 44th Annual Limestone County Sheriff ' s Rodeo Come on down for two days of ropin’ and ridin’ at the 44th Annual Limestone Sheriff ' s Rodeo! You don ' t want to miss all the family fun of authentic rodeo action. Time: 8 p. m.- 10 p. m. on both days. Location: Limestone County Sheriff ' s Rodeo Arena( 18118 State Route 99 in Athens).
16— Hummingbirds with Master Gardeners at the Library Learn all about hummingbirds— one of nature’ s biggest tiny gifts to gardeners— as the Limestone County master Gardeners host an hour-long hummingbird presentation. 21— Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Concert Series Music lovers unite for a special performance by Wood Box Heroes in historic McCandless Hall on the campus at Athens State University. Time: 7 p. m. Location: McCandless Hall at Athens State University( 300 North Beaty Street in Athens).

29— 2026 Fridays After Five Concert Series The summer’ s first Fridays After Five event takes over The Square in downtown Athens on Friday, May 29, returning Athens Main Street ' s highly-anticipated annual street party and concert series for a new season of admission-free fun. Come for the camaraderie, the local merchants, the fun food trucks, and the live entertainment— but definitely don’ t forget to bring your lawn chairs! Time: All day.
