People I grew up in the glass industry. My father started working for a glazing/mirror company immediately when he came to this country approximately 45 years ago. In 1980 he started his own company. My brother and I would help him with all the small projects. I worked with him until I went to college. I attended State University of Farmingdale and received a Bachelors in Architectural Science. Trying to avoid labor work I took on odd jobs in sales and marketing. After I graduated, I accepted some construction jobs in the draftsman field and supervisor roles. About 15 years went by, in the mean time my brother had stayed with my father and had started his own business. He was doing very well and asked me if I wanted to join him. He gave me an offer I couldn't refuse. Working side by side with my brother, he taught me everything about the shower door industry. Some time went by and the economy was doing well, we opened a second location. After some years went by I partnered up with my parents and purchased the initial location and started OMG Shower Doors inc. My parents and I operate out of Copiague NY. Although we are open to the public with a full time staff at the showroom 70% of our business is from contractors and designers. In my own personal life: I have a 7 year old son that I spent lots of time building projects for his cub scout pack. He wants to become a baseball player so I practice with him every chance I get and go to his games. In my spare time I volunteer as a certified emergency medical technician which gives me personal satisfaction assisting people in their time of need. In addition I'm associated with a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to home repair for those in need. Called Rebuilding Together Long Island" I have built handicapped ramps and donated many shower doors. Also for fun and relaxation I fly small 4 seater air planes out of republic airport.
