CRASH COURSE IN PHOTOSHOP (1 DAY) Learn the essentials of working with Photoshop. Start by learning the workspace and tools including brushes, paint, and flow. Next, edit imagery on screen with adjustments such as levels, curves, hue/ saturation and selectively apply those adjustments. Composite different image elements together and conclude with a lesson on printing. Students should bring a flash drive with 5-10 images to edit. Basic computer skills required. Sunday February 22, 1-5pm Jessi Meliza $120, Members $115 CRASH COURSE IN ILLUSTRATOR (1 DAY) Illustrator is an indispensable software for graphic artists to create designs. This course will teach you about vector-based graphics, to create and edit paths, work with type, use live trace, paint and fill objects and much more. Basic computer skills required. Sunday March 22, 1-5pm Jessi Meliza $120, Members $115 PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE: PRINTING PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE: PRESENTATION (1 DAY) This workshop is intended to provide the fundamental skills needed to display images, prints and visual information in a professional manner for exhibition or personal purposes. Students will learn traditional photographic matting techniques, along with contemporary dry/adhesive mounting, print preservation and exhibition quality framing. Supply list available online. Sunday March 15, 1-5pm Jaclyn Wright $120, Members $115 $10 Material fee BUSINESS CARD DESIGN (1 DAY) Learn the basics of Adobe Illustrator by designing your own business cards. This introductory course covers the tools necessary to get you comfortable with organizing text in Illustrator. We will discuss business card layout, typographical considerations and basic logo design. Leave with business cards you will be proud to give away and not just use for free lunches anymore. Sunday February 8, 1-5pm Amanda Mulcahy $120, Members $115 This workshop is intended to provide students with the basic skill set necessary to create exhibition quality photographic prints. Students will focus on developing editing skills for the purpose of creating high resolution and tonally accurate images. Experimentation regarding paper quality, weight, color temperature and texture will be discussed in order to enhance the images overall presentation.
