Living Library
for social inclusion
To defy discrimination and exclusion of refugees and migrants in Europe, to create a more inclusive society in which equality of human rights and dignity is real, the project “Living Library” was thought.
"The fortunate find of a good book
can change the destiny of a soul"
Marcel Prevost (1862 - 1941) - French writer
The project involves partners from different regions: France, Portugal, Greece, Serbia, Albania, Romania, Georgia and Armenia. The project consists of a training course, held in Palermo, and a follow-up phase. The follow-up is a moment of practical implementation of
the acquired competences during which all
the partners will plan and implement a living
library event in their own communities, especially involving libraries’ and schools’ staff in the organization, as to spread the methodology to different sectors of society. It will also be created an online catalogue with stories of the living books participating to the living libraries in the different countries.
