The Story

Of Frozen

Yes, the love for Frozen has taken over the country, but alas, many fans don't know the story behind the smash hit.

This magical film was released on November 27th of 2013, but before it came out on the big screens, 600 people worked on it for two years. It took that long to produce the animated film and get it into production.

Frozen is based off of Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale, The Snow Queen. Walt Disney dreamed of animating this as early as 1937. He had been trying to develop this story for

many, many years, but it never quite happened. Soon after that, animated princess movies went out of style, and his idea was put away. Years later, after the producers of Frozen made Tangled, and it was such a hit, they decided to go back and revisit the snow queen idea. This time it would have a whole new name, FROZEN.

The idea immediately took wing and the whole crew was told to catch the earliest plane to Norway. While they were there, they were looking for where Frozen could actually take place. They soon settled on Speords. While there, they noticed a specific pattern that they used a lot in the movie called, rosemaling.
