3 and 4-cylinder Twin Power Turbo Engines. Feistier than ever. The ante has been upped: thanks to a potent combination of BMW Group engineering and premium lightweight materials, our new 3 and 4-cylinder Twin Power Turbo engines are more powerful and fuel-efficient than ever before. By supplying immediate torque that holds steady throughout the engine’ s power curve, our Twin Power Turbo engines are even quicker than their award-winning predecessor – adding more guts to what was already a feisty bulldog.
How Would you like your corners? Going for a leisurely cruise, a speedy-spin, or something inbetween? Whatever you’ re feeling, the optional Dynamic Damper Control on the MINI 3 door and MINI 5 door allows you to customize the stiffness of your MINI’ s suspension to suit your driving mood. Loosen the shocks to give your MINI a stronger grip on the road, or stiffen things up for ultra-responsive corner attacks.
Multi-Link Rear Suspension. Agile at any angle. Unlike most sub-compact and compact cars, MINIs feature a standard multi-link rear suspension. This suspension setup allows each wheel to react independently to the bumps in the road while maintaining as much contact with the road surface as possible.
Adjustable Driving Modes. Go from mean to green. If you’ re on the road, and you want to go from“ oh my” to“ ohhh $#!%”, just switch the dial to Sport Mode, and watch as your MINI transforms into a force to be reckoned with. More responsive steering. More ballistic acceleration. Even the tone of the exhaust moves up a few keys. But if you’ re in the mood for a more leisurely cruise, switch over to Green Mode. This fuel-friendly driving mode optimizes fuel delivery and shift points, and even disengages your engine when your foot’ s off the throttle. Of course, when you want the best of both worlds, kick it into mid-mode for a happy motoring medium.
