Creativity.
by Lisa Feren.
Hey there San Diego! Lisa Feren here! Your local LifeGrid Editor. I am having so much fun meeting
and getting to know so many wonderful people while bringing their stores and businesses to you! I am
always open to comments, questions and referrals to fabulous San Diego business owners I haven’t met
yet so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you know someone who should be featured here!
As I write this, it is the beginning of September. The long 10-week summer has come to an end and I
find myself with some good old-fashioned quite time to work, think and get things done now that the kids
are back in school.
This month’s theme is creativity. When I hear the word creativity, I think of kids building spaceships out
of Legos, turning old boxes into cars or imagining a new animal existed on earth and painting what it
would look like. In reality, anyone can be creative as creativity is just original ideas to produce artistic
work. Sadly, the most creative I have been this summer is trying to create diversion for the kids so they
don’t fight. Create new recipes for my daughter so we can bake together, creatively pack all our junk
in one bag for a two week vacation and get creative on ways to keep my kids reading and practicing
their instruments over the summer break.
With this 10-week diversion, I feel like I have lost all sense of my own creativity! I have spent the last
few days contemplating those things that inspire me to create, what I have created and what I want to
create!
I truly get inspired working with my clients creating new and original content for them, and interviewing
people for this magazine. It jazzes me up listening to all that they create and accomplish. I am inspired
learning how they inspire! I am proud to then create their story. I stay inspired when they read what I
have written about them and are excited about their story.
My creative process comes so easily. As a born connector and extrovert, I just start conversations with
people authentically. I create a space where people are able to open up to me and tell me about their
lives, struggles, accomplishments and businesses. It also allows me to bond with the people in my city
in such a genuine way.
I want to create an online community where people are able to connect and bring value to each other
through their experiences, knowledge and products. A place where each of us continues to inspire each
other to achieve great things!
I look forward to continually creating each and every day – with my friends, family and online family –
YOU!
With love and gratitude,
Lisa Feren
